Goal:  The purpose of Woman’s Ministries is to help women understand and develop their personal relationship with God, discover and cultivate their God-given talents and gifts, and to live out God's love and acceptance in their families, friendships, church, community and throughout the world.

In addition to local programs and events, WM of Second Presbyterial sponsor regional and national women's conferences, and much more.

If you are a woman attending Newberry ARP, then you are already a part of WM, regardless of how many events, studies, and/or ministries you are able to attend.

Some of those service opportunities are listed below:

 1.  Church Buildings.

                             a.  Flowers in church

                                                         i.    each service

                                                        ii.    Christmas decorations

                             b.  Clean and Maintain Kitchen

                             c.   Bulletin Boards

            d.  Major Contributions

                                                         i.    Spent $7,000 on furnishings for the conference room when built.

                                                        ii.    Provided round tables and clothes.

                                                        iii.    Bought Christmas Tree, Wreathes, etc.

2.  Regular Church Life

                             a.  Nursery Workers

                             b.  Prayer chain

                             c.   Remember college students and keep them connected. 

                             d.  Golden Agers

                             e.  Prayer Partner Program

                             f.    Bible Studies

                             g.  Birthday Parties at nursing homes (annual)

                             h.  Shut-ins:  Cards and holiday gifts.

                             i.    Maintain History

                                                         i.    of the women ministries,

                                                         ii.    of the church

                                                        iii.    memorialize this through a scrapbook.

3.  Special Events

                             a.  Serve refreshments for special events

                             b.  Meals for bereaved families

4.  Denominational Activities

                             a.  Jubilee Birthday for missionaries

                             b.  Provide gifts and crafts to the Bonclarken Gift Shop

                             c.   Donate Life Memberships, Memorials, and Love Gifts.                                                                                  Often this money goes to the Synodical Treasurer. 

5.  Community Activities

                             a.  Communicate with down town churches

                             b.  Provide volunteers and donations to:

                                                          i.    Manna House

                                                        ii.    Meals on Wheels

                                                        iii.    Free Medical Clinic

                                                        iv.    Natural Disasters like Katrina

                 v. Relay for Life

 

ARP Women's Ministries

ARP Women's Ministries, an organization of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church under the supervision of General Synod, is an organization which encourages and equips the community of ARP women to minister together for God's glory and purpose.
